Our early years programs at Bowen Road Primary School have been recognised by the Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) as best practice in early literacy instruction and family engagement. The expertise of our Kindergarten team has been showcased through the filming of teaching sessions, which are now used to support early career teachers across the state in developing strong foundational practice.
Our Pre‑Kinder sessions begin at the start of each school year and are designed for children who will be enrolling at Bowen Road Primary School the following year. These sessions run weekly and are led by a qualified early childhood teacher, supporting children to build confidence, familiarity and positive early learning habits before commencing Kindergarten.
We offer Launching into Learning (LiL) sessions twice a week for families with children aged 0–4 years. Session times and days vary each year; families receive a schedule at the beginning of each term through our newsletter and via our Facebook page.
LiL brings together a vibrant and diverse community of families from both our local area and the wider community. These sessions are also facilitated weekly by a qualified early childhood teacher, providing enriched play‑based learning experiences and fostering strong early connections between children, families and the school.
